I quite like to take photos of rust and decay, and this one seemed a bit different because of the strong shadows.

A lone supplicant kneeling at the doors of Notre Dame in Paris . All around her were crowds of tourists, laughing , chatting, moving about their business, but here she knelt, oblivious to the sounds around her. For a brief moment, the crowds of people all moved away and I was able to capture her moment of solitude.

Todays’ Photo101 challenge is “Street”
I am really lucky to live in one of the few “wild” places left in the UK. I live in tiny village in Devon on Exmoor. I think its one of the most beautiful places I know, but others can find it bleak.
PaintedWords will be taking part on the new challenge from WordPress BloggingU, the challenge is to learn more about photography while also blogging a new photo every day throughout November, starting tomorrow.
We are really looking forward to joining in the challenge and sharing some tips, advice as well as being inspired by the great photo blogs that abound in the community.
